Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economy, Social Sciences, International Development or any other related field.

   Field of experience:  

In providing business development services and entrepreneurship to small or medium enterprise, preferably within the context of livelihood or community development projects.

   Years of experience:  

Minimum 5-7 years of experience

   Specific skills and competencies:  

Strong understanding of business concepts, market trends, and entrepreneurship
Ability to work effectively in a multicultural team.
Excellent research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse stakeholders
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
Commitment to the organization's mission and values.

The ideal candidate will be a proactive and efficient multi-tasker. This candidate can work independently in a fast-paced dynamic working environment.

  Job Description:
The Business Development Expert for SMEs (Small and Medium Enterprises) will have a critical role in supporting and empowering local SMEs and Nano-business owners to enhance their businesses and contribute to sustainable economic growth in the community. The expert will provide coaching, mentorship, and business development services to SMEs, equipping them with skills and knowledge needed to thrive.

Conduct comprehensive needs assessment for SMEs to identify strengths, weaknesses, and growth opportunities
Develop and implement tailored coaching, training, and mentoring programs for SMEs to address specific needs
Collaborate with SMEs to create and refine business plans, strategies, marketing and financial approaches
Assist in setting clear objectives and key performance indicators (KPIs) for business growth
Provide programs related to ideation, incubation, business development, and various aspects of entrepreneurship
Maintain accurate records of coaching sessions, business plans, and outcomes
Guide SMEs in financial planning, budgeting, and financial management
Establish mechanisms to track the progress of SMEs and the impact of coaching
Organize and deliver workshops and training sessions when needed on relevant business topics, fostering entrepreneurship skills among SMEs
Build and maintain relationships with local business organizations, associations, and other stakeholders
Prepare reports on program achievements, challenges, and recommendations
Guide entrepreneurs in developing sales strategies and negotiation skills
Ensure current and potential projects align with DOTLebanon’s values and missions
Assess the social impact of the projects on beneficiaries' communities
Coach and train project teams and introduce them to new methodologies and tools
Conduct field visits to assess the effectiveness of porject’s implementation
Contribute to the monitoring and evaluation of project’s activities to ensure targets are met and impact is achieved
Submit needed operational and financial documentation/reports and/or information in regards to the implementation, reporting of the program
Undertake other duties assigned by and DOTLebanon Country Director

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
50% Office work and 50% field visits
